- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, then drain any excess fat.
- Stir in sweet paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half of the beef mixture at the bottom of a greased casserole dish.
- Spread half of the mashed potatoes on top of the beef, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Repeat the layering with the remaining beef, followed by mashed potatoes, and finish with mozzarella cheese.
- Pour the tomato sauce over the top layer.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute the beef with ground turkey or chicken. Store-bought mashed potatoes can save time!
