Description

A comforting casserole featuring layers of savory ground beef, creamy mashed potatoes, and rich cheeses, perfect for weeknight dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, then drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in sweet paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the beef mixture at the bottom of a greased casserole dish.
  5. Spread half of the mashed potatoes on top of the beef, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  6. Repeat the layering with the remaining beef, followed by mashed potatoes, and finish with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Pour the tomato sauce over the top layer.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute the beef with ground turkey or chicken. Store-bought mashed potatoes can save time!
